Now in its fourth year, the 2006 Bangkok International Film Festival (BKKIFF) is proud of our ever-growing popularity throughout the world of cinema. Over the years, we have worked hard to bring an exciting schedule of world-class films, informative workshops and symposiums, special tributes, the Bangkok Film Market (BFM) and, of course, the spectacular special events for which Thailand has become so well known to the viewing public.
Past festivals have featured award-winning films such as Lost in Translation , The Barbarian Invasions , Being Julia , Les Choristes , Born into Brothels , and The Motorcycle Diaries, to name a few. Our special guests over the years have included Jeremy Irons, Michael Douglas, Oliver Stone, Michelle Yeoh, Val Kilmer, Jackie Chan, Colin Farrell and Joel Schumacher as well as many others.

On February 24, 2006, the annual Awards Gala will present The Golden Kinnaree Awards to the winning films and filmmakers. Awards will be presented in the following categories:

THE SIAM PARAGON
Dubbed the "Jewel of Asia", the much-anticipated Siam Paragon is one of Thailand and Asia 's largest shopping and entertainment complexes, comprising almost 500,000 square meters of retail space, exhibition halls, cultural and edutainment center in the heart of Bangkok.
Located adjacent to the bustling Siam Square , the Siam Paragon is also within walking distance to most of the festival's host hotels.
ROYAL PARAGON HALL
The Royal Paragon Hall, the exhibition and convention venue, located on the5 th level of the Siam Paragon will be the site of the festival's headquarters: accreditation, industry lounge, press facilities, press conferences, seminars and all festival functions will take place here. The Paragon Halls will also host the Bangkok Film Market as well as the awards gala ceremony.
PARAGON CINEPOLIS
The festival's regular screenings program will take place in the Paragon Cinepolis's theatres, right next to the Royal Paragon Hall in the Siam Paragon. A new venture from the Major Cineplex Group, the complex consists of 15 movie theaters and an IMAX screen.
