Ban Butom's wicker weavings

Description
The products are made of Hang Nu wicker, which is slender, flexible, strong and naturally shiny, woven into a variety of weavings. Examples are food baskets, baskets with cloth covered interiors, pumpkin-shaped baskets, fruit trays and hampers.

Wat Koobua Teenjok sarong-like Skirts and woven textiles

Description
The textile is woven into a varienty of traditional Thai patterns which are of fine detail and require a lot of skill to weave, as Teenjok sarong-like skirts need to be hand woven thread by thread. Thus, it sometimes takes approximately 3 months to finish a single skirt. The group consistently creates new disigns for its textiles.

Material
1. Artificial silk (used as the main thread in weaving)
2. Silk thread
3. Cotton yarn

Process
Silk yarn is woven by handloom and hand dyed with synthetic dye, which does not fade. A summary process of the weaving is as follows : 1. Bleaching 2. Spinning 3. Sorting 4. Twining 5. Dyeing 6. Painting 7. Spinning 8. Weaving

Usage
Used as cloth for tailoring and also clothing which is not only an exquisite garment but also serves to conserve Thai arts and culture.

Koh-Yor hand woven fabric

Description
Product of Koh-Yor woven fabric is a traditionally hand woven fabric handicraft, which is unique, elaborate, colorful and beautifully patterned. This woven fabric has distinguished pattern such as Ratchawat pattern, Dok Pikul pattern, One-five pattern etc. This fabric is densely either in yards or made to specific requirement of the customer.

Material
Synthetic silk, dyed colors

Process
1.Prepare yarn.
2.Pattern can be made as required.
3.Thread yarn into reed.
4.Wind yarn to axle.
5.Put yarn in woven loom.
6.Woven by traditional “kra tuk” loom.

Usage
Clothing and souvenir representing Thai wisdom conservation.

Jasmine-fragrant clay

Description
Frangrant clay is shaped into different kinds of flowers and designs, such as garlands and orchids.

1.Fragrant clay is kneaded.
2.It is shaped into the parts of flowers.
3.These are then assembled into artificial flowers.

This silk textile is created by the Weaving Group of the Ban Nonesawang Silk Weaving Centre. Its diverse designs are unique to Ubon Ratchathani Province.

Marble handicraft

The marble is machine-tooled by skilled craftsmen into the required shapes. The product is carefully inspected and any final adjustments made.

Carved sandstone


Description
The products are made to order in any size and any style, such as Buddha images and representations of people or animals.

Material
1. Sandstone
2. Sandpaper

Process
1. Sandstone of the required size is selected.
2. The design is drawn on the stone which is then roughly cared.
3. The stone is more finely carved and appraised.
4. The stone is finally carved with finished details.
5. It is then scrubbed with sandpaper and any final adjustments are made.

Usage
Used for purposes of worship or for decoration.

Celadon products

Description
Celadon is a kind of high fired stoneware with a wood and ash glaze which is handmade by a traditional process. It is a man-made attempt to duplicate opaque jade - since jade is seen as a natural beautiful and strong stone which brings the owner good luck and success.

Usage
As celadon is a man-made product which depends upon the skills and experience of craftsmen, it is valuable.
But because of its attractiveness and solidity, celadon is used both for home decoration and everyday use.
Celadon dinner set is extremely appreciated. Not only for its beauty, but also for the health safety. No chemical is used for the production. Cooking and serving with celadon is recommended even in microwave oven.

San Pa Tong woodcarving handicrafts
